1 Year of Jawan : 

It's time to celebrate 1 Year of Jawan. South director Atlee made his Bollywood, or say, pan-India debut with Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, and demolished several box office records. Released on Janmashatami, September 7, 2023, the film also starred two popular faces from the south, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, making it a proper mix of South and Bollywood amidst regular fanwars on Twitter and Facebook.

The Shah Rukh starrer was on a record breaking run last year around this time. From advance sales to opening day, weekend to lifetime numbers, the film broke almost every record, and even whichever wasn't broken, it missed them by a small margin.

Jawan had record-breaking sales for a Bollywood movie with 557k tickets sold in National Chain, while in Hindi (531k), it was the second best after Pathaan (545k).

One more record that Jawan missed was the biggest opening weekend for a Bollywood film in international markets, which is held by SRK's Pathaan only. Jawan minted $16 million on opening weekend overseas, missing Pathaan's record of $16.5 million by a very small margin. The same goes for the lifetime gross, as Jawan ended its phenomenal run overseas with $47 million, falling short to Pathaan's $48.5 million.
