As Arjun Reddy turns seven, we revisit a significant moment when actor Shahid Kapoor, who later portrayed the lead role in the film’s Hindi remake Kabir Singh, expressed his gratitude to the original "Arjun Reddy," Vijay Deverakonda.

Shahid acknowledged the importance of Vijay’s role and the original film, saying, "I have to give him a lot of love. Naa Arjun Reddy bani hoti, naa Kabir Singh paida hota (If Arjun Reddy was not made, then Kabir Singh would not be born). Thank you, Vijay!"

Vijay Deverakonda’s portrayal of Arjun Reddy remains one of his most loved characters amongst fans and cinegoers. Vijya played the role of the high-functioning alcoholic surgeon with anger management issues. The film follows his self-destructive journey after losing his girlfriend, and that's what struck a chord with audiences.

Arjun Reddy received six nominations at the 65th Filmfare Awards South, including Best Telugu Film and Best Telugu Director for Sandeep Reddy Vanga. However, it only managed to win one award: Best Telugu Actor for Vijay Deverakonda.
