Alien: Romulus is Disaster in India:

20th Century Fox Studios' latest release in India, Alien: Romulus, has turned out to be a major disappointment at the box office. The film released a week after its US release to avoid competition with Bollywood releases during the 15th August Weekend and has become a huge disaster in India, be it in Hindi markets or south markets, where Hollywood franchise movies usually do a good business.

Alien: Romulus collected approx. $400k gross in the opening weekend at the Indian Box Office. This can be calculated as Rs. 3.30 crore gross (2.75 crore nett) in Indian Net Rupees (INR value). It's definitely a very poor number for any franchise movie from Hollywood.

The film went even lower on weekdays as the first week collections stand at approx. $700k. (5.90 crore gross, 4.90 crore nett), and it's almost certain that the film will not cross the 10 crore nett mark in India, confirming its "DISASTER" verdict.

This new sci-fi horror-thriller takes place between two highly successful and critically acclaimed Alien franchise movies, Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986). A group of young space colonisers come face-to-face with the most terrifying life form in the universe. Directed by Fede Álvarez, the science fiction horror film stars Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu.
