Amar Kaushik about Shraddha Kapoor's screen time in Stree 2 :

Stree 2 director Amar Kaushik is delighted about the super-duper success of the horror comedy. The film has done excellent business in the first week and has already emerged as the highest-grossing Bollywood movie of the year.

In Stree 2, Shraddha Kapoor's screen time has become the talk of the town. There is a debate on social media over who gets the credit for Stree 2's success. When asked about the same, Kaushik told Indian Express that he doesn't want it to be called a female-centric film or a male-centric film because it's more than that.

Amar Kaushik said, “I won’t call it a female-centric film; it is more. In the film, the female characters are stronger. We have a female saving the men in the film."

He added, "Around the interval, when there is a song, a woman is gesturing to the boys to go and hide, and they do so behind a bangle shop. So, I would say it is not a female-centric or male-centric film. In my films, I try to have stronger female characters than my male characters, whether it is in Bala, Stree, or Bhediya, and now Stree 2."

In another interview with Hungama, Kaushik explained the importance of Shraddha's character in the film. "Some people even complained that Shraddha Kapoor’s screen time was less. Lekin agar Shraddha zyada dikhti, toh jis tarah ki entry ki usne, uska impact nahin hota (But if Shraddha had been more visible, the kind of entry she made would not have had an impact)," said Amar Kaushik.

Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 stars Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Abhishek Banerjee.
