Congress leader Konda Surekha Retracts her controversial statement on Samantha-Naga Chaitanya's divorce

Konda Surekha on Samantha and Naga Chaitanya's divorce:

Congress leader Konda Surekha's recent statement on the divorce of a celebrity couple, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya, sparked controversy on the internet. As per her statement, there was a political environment in Sam-Naga's divorce. After that, Sam, Chay, celebrities, politicians, and their fans slammed Surekha for making such a low-grade statement. 

After seeing backlash coming from everywhere, Konda Surekha has now taken her statement back.

She wrote:

వ్యాఖ్యల ఉద్దేశం మహిళల పట్ల ఒక నాయకుడి చిన్నచూపు ధోరణిని ప్రశ్నించడమే కానీ మీ @Samanthaprabhu2 మనోభావాలను దెబ్బతీయడం కాదు. 

స్వయం శక్తితో మీరు ఎదిగిన తీరు నాకు కేవలం అభిమానం మాత్రమే కాదు.. ఆదర్శం కూడా..

నా వ్యాఖ్యల పట్ల మీరు కానీ, మీ అభిమానులు కానీ మనస్తాపానికి గురైనట్లైతే బేషరతుగా నా వ్యాఖ్యలను పూర్తిగా ఉపసంహరించుకుంటున్నాను.. అన్యద భావించవద్దు.

Translation:

“My intention was only to point out how a leader is belittling towards women but not to hurt your sentiments, @Samanthaprabhu2. The way you have grown exponentially by yourself is something I admire and aspire to. If you or your fans have been hurt by my words, I unconditionally retract them. Please do not take it otherwise.”

Earlier Konda had said, "KTR was the reason behind the divorce of Naga Chaitanya and Sammantha. The reason for the injustice to Samnantha is KTR. Two to three heroines have also gotten married early due to drug cases. Rakul Preet got married and the other two to three heroines as well," alleging KTR for harassing many other female actors in the industry. 

To that, the actress replied, "To be a woman, To come out and work, To survive in a glamorous industry where women are more often than not treated as props, To fall in love & to fall out of love, To still stand up and fight. It takes a lot of courage and strength. Konda Surekha Garu, I am proud of what this journey turned me into; please don't trivialize it. I hope you realize that your words carry significant weight as a minister. I implore you to be responsible and respectful of individuals' privacy. My divorce is a personal matter, and I request that you refrain from speculating about it. Our choice to keep things private doesn't invite misrepresentation. To clarify: my divorce was mutual consent and amicable, with no political conspiracy involved. Could you please keep my name out of political battles? I have always remained non-political and wish to continue doing so."
