Stree 2 vs. Khel Khel Mein vs. Vedaa box office clash has turned out to be a one sided affair. Stree 2 has taken a huge start at the box office, and the opening day numbers of the film will be a benchmark for the other two films to make it into a lifetime run. That's how big it is, and it will remain so in the coming days.
Stree 2 has smashed the opening of the records for Bollywood movies in 2024 and collected approx. 45 crore nett on day one. The film also grabbed 8.50 crore nett from paid previews on Thursday, taking its overall total to 53.50–54 crore nett.
Stree 2 will be looking to smash the 100 crore club in the first three days and emerge as a blockbuster success in no time. It is set to smash many other records set by other Bollywood films in 2024, including the Hindi numbers of Kalki 2898 AD.
Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein had a poor day one, with a total of 4.5 crore nett approx. This is exactly 10 times lower than the first-day numbers of Amar Kaushik's horror comedy. After Sarfira, Khel Khel Mein marks another single-digit opening for Akshay Kumar. Was the clash really a good idea?
On the other hand, Vedaa, starring John Abraham and Sharvari, also had a bad start. However, the film managed to take the second spot in this so-called three-way clash by minting approximately 6 crore nett on Thursday. It has overtaken Khel Khel Mein, though. However, the actual clash is between these two films for the second best, as Stree 2 is out of reach by 10 x margin.
