Stree 2 Beats Jawan To Become The Highest Grossing Hindi Movie Ever

Stree 2 Beats Jawan: 

Stree 2 creates history! Amar Kaushik's directorial has now become the Rank 1 Hindi grosser of all time. The horror comedy has surpassed the lifetime total of Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, which collected a little over 554 crore nett last year in September. Congratulations to the entire team for the tremendous box office success.

This achievement of Stree 2 becomes much bigger considering the budget, cast, and the 3-way box office clash it faced, while Jawan had a solo release and was made on a much bigger scale and budget. Stree 2's success is simply unbelievable because no one would have imagined a mid-budget film to become a record-grosser in Bollywood. Previously, Gadar 2 did the same, but it was a sequel to an All Time Blockbuster like Gadar, while Stree 2 was a sequel of a not-so-big Hit movie. Moreover, this horror comedy broke the records in clash, so we can't imagine the numbers if it had a solo release during the Independence Day weekend, which was an extended holiday period (please note: Jawan did not enjoy any national holiday like this).

The Sharaddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer has also created a new record for highest fifth week collections as it becomes the first Bollywood movie to collect over 20 crore nett in the fifth week. Now, all eyes are on the sixth week, as this Stree is looking for another record.

First week - 293.21 crore

Second Week - 139.58 crore

Third Week - 65.72 crore

Fourth week - 33.05 crore 

Fifth week - 23.60 crore approx.

Total - 555.16 crore* nett approx
