Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's horror comedy, Stree 2, is seeing phenomenal response in advanced sales and is set to take one of the biggest openings for any mid-budget film.
Stree 2 has sold approx. 2,28,000 tickets so far in the national chains, which include 1,82,000 tickets from PVR INOX and 46,000 tickets from Cinepolis chains. The film will be looking to cross 3,50,000 ticket sales for day one and will have terrific spot bookings tomorrow as it is a big holiday.
It has also seen superb response for the paid previous, which will be starting tonight from 9 p.m. onwards; otherwise, the opening day advanced sales and numbers would have been much higher.
Stree 2 is behaving like a solo release despite a 3-way clash and has left the competitors way behind. Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein has sold approximately 11,500 tickets in the national chains, which is almost 20 times lower than Stree 2.
Khel Khel Mein will be eyeing 27,000–30,000 ticket sales by the end of the day, which will be far lower compared to Stree 2.
John Abraham's Vedaa is on the last spot with approx. 9,000 tickets sold in the national chains, so the actual clash is between Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa, as Stree 2 is running ahead by a huge and undefeatable margin.
