"Everyone Said I Shouldn't Do Sector 36, But I Wanted"–Vikrant Massey

Vikrant Massey on Sector 36:

Vikrant Massey and Deepak Dobriyal will be seen getting involved in a cat and mouse game in the upcoming crime drama, Sector 36. Directed by Aditya Nimbalkar, this intense film will be released on Netflix on September 13, 2024.

Vikrant Massey got candid with the media before the trailer launch of the film and shared some exclusive details. During an interaction with Movie Talkies, Vikrant revealed that he was told not to do this film, but then he decided to do it, intentionally. He also said that his wife, Sheetal Thakur, didn't recognize him in the poster.

"My team and my friends were telling me that I had become this commercial hero after the success of 12th Fail, so I should stick to commercial movies. Sector 36 is too dark and intense for that image, they said. But then I said, Ab toh me karna chahta. I want to surprise the audience. I don't want to follow the rules and stick to one kind of commercial cinema. This story needs to be told and deserves a wide reach, and I wanted to make sure that I'd be part of this."

During the same conversation, Vikrant told a group of journalists, "The film has a very strong and well-written script. Bodi has written it beautifully. When I first read it, I knew I had to be a part of it. It was very different from my previous work, like "12th Fail," where I was involved in the scripting process as well. Here, the character I played required me to explore deeper emotions that I haven't portrayed before."
