Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Review: Taking the name forward from the popular 1998 flick, Ali Abbas Zafar's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan takes us into a larger-than-life world of AI threat. Back in 1998, it was a common villain, but here we have a masked villain with an even more dangerous and menacing outlook. The OG action heroes of Bollywood are pitted against him in a formulaic action-drama, which is uplifted by new-age ideas of terrorism and high-octane action stunts.Bade Miyan Chote Miyan sees two elite but indisciplined soldiers of India, Firoz and Rakesh, embarking on a noxious mission to recover a stolen weapon from Kabir, which can restore the security layer to stop an AI war. Kabir has a past connected to Firoz, aka Freddy, and Rakesh, aka Rocky, to settle, while his main ambition is to take over the world with his AI clone soldiers. Will he be able to do that?BMCM is promoted as an action-thriller, but it ends up with more comedy than thrills, surprisingly. Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda's flick was an outright comedy, and rightfully so because it was directed by David Dhawan. When and how did Ali Abbas Zafar turn into David Dhawan is now a bigger mystery than which parties will make an alliance in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. It has been a good surprise, though. Zafar, who is known for big-scale action dramas giving us a comedy, is like getting a double dose of entertainment in a single ticket. Why complain, then? Let's enjoy it.Akshay Kumar tries to represent what Amitabh Bachchan did in 1998—a senior and responsible officer with tactical genius and spontaneity. Tiger Shroff is your modern Govinda, maybe, for trying sassy one-liners, just like the comedy legend did throughout the 90's and like no one else. The duo packs a solid punch of action and comedy, while Prithviraj Sukumaran takes care of intense affairs and grittiness. If you are also curious to know whether or not you will get to see his face, then let us give you an exciting spoiler. Yes, you will get to see his face. Why and how he wears a mask—let's leave that suspense for the film.BMCM has three ladies playing small small but important parts. Manushi Chhillar gets the most beautiful part amongst the three, and she is like the "lead" here. You'll get to see her kicking some goons, as well as some glamorous shots without skin showing. Sonakshi Sinha has been kept under wraps for a reason. There is a twist that we believe should be watched in cinemas.
Alaya F plays a character you won't expect—a chatterbox with all the humourless jokes. "The humour sucks," says Manushi in one scene, but that was more suitable for Alaya's character than Tiger's. That's been done by the writer and dialogue writer, so let's not blame the actors. Alaya has some cute scenes that you usually expect in your college-time girlfriend.Bhagnanis and Ali have spent some real money on action, and it is worth your ticket. The high-octane action and explosions are the reasons why you must watch this film on the big screen only. The opening scene starts with a tank attack, followed by a 17–20 minute action sequence of Bade Miyan and Chote Miyan completing a difficult mission that will have you on the edge of your seats. The interval block takes you by surprise, and the second half is again loaded with some breathtaking action segments. Watch out for the climax fight, with multiple characters coming as a nice surprise. Don't forget to see Akshay's bike stunt, which will remind you of Tom Cruise's stunt from Mission Impossible.Ali Abbas Zafar's direction makes BMCM a mass bonanza, which is entitled to receive plenty of hootings and clappings in single-screen cinemas. Dialogues like "Biryani waste nahi karenge," "Hero ki entry," and "Deshbhakhti bechega" will take masses by storm. Zafar has indeed justified his vision of making a power-packed and paisa-vasool entertainer with the biggest action entertainer of the year.In a nutshell, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has everything from a big cast to larger-than-life action, patriotism, dialoguebaazi, bromance, eye-catching visuals, splendid locations, music, a deadly villain, two fancy lead heroes doing comedy and real stunts, and unexpected twists. So let's not waste any time and make this Eid bigger and merrier with Bade and Chote in cinemas near you. Have a blockbuster experience at the movies.
