Gullak Season 4 Review Movie Talkies

Gullak Season 4 is here to make you smile again. This isn't about hilarious gags, but about those grinning moments that reflect your own personal life on the screen. TVF's Gullak S 4 continues to find simple solutions to all the middle-class people's problems that we face every other day. Instead of giving it dramatic turns, Gullak kept things simple so that they didn't look too intellectual or too simple either.publive-imageThe first episode is about a legal notice sent to the Sharma family from the housing department. The same old issue of illegal structures in your ancient house. Don't know what these officers were doing all the time that they had to find a certain section of the construction illegal after many years. However kiddish it may look, it happens to many middle-class families every day. What can they do but give bribes and get things done? But did you ever think about which party was bigger—the one who takes the bribe or the one who gives the bribe? Find out the perfect answer in the first episode of Gullak Season 4.publive-imageThe second one is about the chain-snatching experience that Shanti Sharma goes through. It's not just a gold chain or a small robbery; it's an attack on her neck. Did you ever feel it? (asking this to ladies only.) What can a lady do after that? Go home as if she has committed a crime. This episode turns that guilt into satisfaction. The next episode is about waste scraps and junk every middle-class family has in their home (it's called Kabaad or Bhangaar; now you get it) and how important it is to every member of the family. The fourth episode explores Aman's love story. I think TVF has done a much better job in that apartment with Yeh Meri Family.publive-imageAfter the fourth episode is left without any conclusive narration, we enter the fifth one with all things being taken forward. Aman's adulting clashes with Mr. and Mrs. Sharma's parenting, and we also get a glimpse into Annu's job profile and a slight sneak peek into his upcoming love story (with Dr. Prachi, played by Helly Shah). Aman's secrets are unveiled, and he gets a punishment, but Mr. Sharma thinks that he might have made a mistake. Will they be able to patch things up?publive-imageGullak Season 4 is a well-written and well-performed series. It's a little down from the previous seasons or the expectations we have built for ourselves from them, but I think it's natural since they are keeping it real, and in real life we cannot have some fantastic ideas that can be converted into dramatic sequences every time. Sooner or later, the writer will be short on segments in his screenplay because he has already covered almost every possible problem in a middle-class family. I can sense a love story, a wedding, and a joint family drama already.publive-imageAs a whole, Gullak Season 4 is a good watch, yet again! That again can't be forever, so let's cherish it till it is there. Geetanjali Kulkarni and Jameel Khan's performances are solid, yet again! Vaibhav Raj Gupta and Harsh Mayar have done it yet again! Sunita Rajwar brings a smile to your face yet again! These 5 were meant to play their respective roles. Gullak means these five, and these five mean Gullak. The supporting cast has done well, and the direction of Shreyash Padney is superb. The narrational deviation of our problems really touches your heart, and some dialogues stay with you. "Abhimani ko sanmaan, aur Lobhi ko jalpan" is my favorite. That Kabaadi hound was so damn crazy. That arrogance on Mr. Sharma's face after giving "Lifafa" (a bribe) was something else. The shattered expressions of Mrs. Sharma after chain snatching were relatable. Aman's dreamy romance was fascinating, and Annu's male ego after showing his boss what he can do teaches you a lot. Last but not least, Bittu ki Mummy's murabba and why Aman didn't say "hi" to her were more preserved slices than the pickel. Not to forget the voice of Gullak. Have a good time with Team Gullak, and don't forget to watch it with your family (especially if you belong to a middle-class family).
