Indian 2 Review Movie Talkies

Indian 2 Review : Shankar's Indian (1996) was a mass sensation back then, not because it was a big-budget action film but because of its aggressive theme. The same "save the nation" formula was used again in Anniyan, but Shankar gave a superb twist of medical conditions and emotions to that film. Now, he is back with Indian 2, when everybody knows that it is too late. I can proudly say that it's not just late but unnecessary too. Indian 2 is made only to ruin the legacy of Indian (I mean, whatever it has in masses). This unwanted sequel is not just bad but unbearable. It's annoying in every way. Indian 2 is more like a satirical animated TV soap or an extended B-grade YouTube video than a "big budget movie."publive-imageYears have passed since Senapthy's disappearance in Indian (1996), and the nation is more corrupt and spoiled today. Chitra (Siddharth) and his friends run a YouTube channel and troll corrupt people through satirical animations. Yet, nothing changes in the country. The return of Hindustani is a must! But where is he? Chitra and gang trend #ComebackIndian on social media, and then it is learned that Hindustani is in Hong Kong. He returns to India to change things again, in his style, of course. This time he demands support from the citizens, saying they should first clean their own houses. Will it work?Indian 2 review Indian 2 has a horrible screenplay and terrible scene design. The idea of turning a savior into a villain was refreshing for such a vigilantist story, but is this how you present it? No. This is so pathetic. You can't accept such a presentation even in 1997, a year after Indian, and you are bringing it in 2024? Why? The writing has ruined the legacy of Indian, aka Senapathy, the character that actually left people in awe with his hardcore patriotism. Hindustani has brought that all down in every aspect, be it storyline, screenplay, acting, production, action, or direction. This is a big insult to Indian, and as Indians, we should punish them for that. Don't you dare defend this film, or else you'll get smashed by Karma through Verm Kala.publive-imageDon't you dare talk about acting, because there ain't any. Even a legend like Kamal Haasan couldn't beat it. Hindustani 2 will be known as a black spot in his career. He recently did films like Vikram and Kalki to show how much fire he still carries, and then Indian 2 comes as an extinguisher. Siddharth has a bad role, but the acting is even worse. Rakul Preet hardly gets two-three scenes and still couldn't perform well. S. J. Suryah is made a roadside chapri, not a villain. It was a big insult to his caliber. Bobby Simha, Vivek, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, Kalidas Jayaram, Delhi Ganesh, Manobala, Nedumudi Venu, Piyush Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Gulshan Grover, and so many other characters—all are made jokers.publive-imageI don't even want to discuss how bad the production design was because it was that bad. The visual effects and action sequences will remind you of any B-grade movie you can remember. The background score is only there for the name. No emotional connect, no logic, no sense of technicality or practicality and we have to tolerate this torture for 3 hours. The editor is not going to sleep tonight after ruining our sleep. For me, the last high-standard film Shankar made was Endhiran in 2010. He died there. After that, he is only making dead movies that have ground-breaking value, like most of his films. I can understand how an experienced director can go bad while failing to match with new-age filmmakers, but not this bad, man. I mean, this is a new low. Why did he make Indian 2 so late? Late sequels are always bad, I guess. Let's take Gadar 2, for instance. But Hindustani 2 even beats that. As a whole, it is a complete waste of time, talent, and money. Watching it will be a new crime, and who knows, Senapathy might come and punish you for that.
