The makers tried low-key promotions and a limited release, and the results are not that bad. The 1920 series has always been an underdog with low economics that have helped produce better returns for the producers.
1920 Horrors Of The Heart had a decent total of close to 5 crore nett mark in the opening weekend, which is better than many so-called moderate budget movies that turned out to be disasters. 1920 was the only new release this weekend and has seen better results than what one would have expected before the release.
