Aftab Shivdasani Online Scam: Bollywood actor Aftab Shivdasani is a new victim of an online banking scam. The actor received a message on his phone about the suspension of his account at Axis Bank.
After clicking on the link in the message, he received a call from a person who pretended to be the bank official. The person asked Aftab some personal details about his account (reportedly, PAN Card details), and the actor fell victim to fraud's tricks.The next thing Aftab Shivdasani knows is that he received a message of deduction of Rs. 1,49,999 from his account. He called the bank manager, who informed him that the bank officials did not call him. Rather, they never ask for personal details over the call, as we all know.
Aftab immediately went to the Bandra Police Station and filed an FIR against the fraudster. The case has been registered under sections 419 and 420 of the IPC Act, along with sections 66(c) and 66(d) of the Information Technology Act.
