One of the most popular and acclaimed classics of Alfred Hitchcock, Vertigo, might get a modern remake. Paramount Pictures has preemptively acquired the rights to the 1958 psychological thriller, and we might see a popular Hollywood actor in it.
The possible remake of Vertigo will possibly star Robert Downey Jr. in the lead role. Additionally, the actor will also be producing the movie with his wife Susan Downey's home production, Team Downey, along with John Davis and John Fox's Davis Entertainment.
The original thriller starred James Stewart in the lead role and has gained immense popularity over the years. However, the initial response was divided, and the film was a box office flop. Based on Thomas Narcejac and Pierre Boileau's novel D'entre les morts, the film also starred Barbara Bel Geddes, Tom Helmore, and Henry Jones.
