Helena Luke passes away:
Helena Luke, popularly known for playing the British queen in Amitabh Bachchan's blockbuster movie "Mard" (1985), passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024. We, at Movie Talkies, pray for her soul to rest in peace.
Helena was seen playing a noble British queen in Manmohan Desai's blockbuster masala movie. Her character, Lady Helena, first saves Azaad Singh (Dara Singh) and then her son, Raju/Mard Tangewala (Amitabh Bachchan). "Aaj pata chala, sab goro ka dil kala nahi hota madam," says Raju while completing her gesture towards him, and this dialogue had become quite famous at that time.
Helena was married to Bollywood superstar Mithun Chakraborty. He was at the peak of his career, and Helena was his first wife. However, the marriage ended soon. Helena sought divorce after 4 months of marriage, and Mithun married actress Yogeeta Bali.

During one of the interviews, Helena Luke said that she was unhappy with the marriage and Mithun had brainwashed with his promises. He made her believe that they were made for each other, but then things didn't work out. She also said that she will never go back to him, even though there have been many rumors of her trying to reconcile with Mithun, which made his second wife Yogeeta insecure. Helena was living in New York for years and working at Delta Airlines as a flight attendant.
