The Hunt For The Gollum in 2026

The Hunt for The Gollum, a new film in the Lord of the Rings franchise, is officially in the works. Peter Jackson, who directed all five theatrical releases in this Middle-earth franchise, will take charge as the main producer for the new film.

Jackson and his partners, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, will be involved in the production as they join hands with Warner Bros. Discovery for the film based on The Gollum.

Andy Serkis, who has played the role of the Gollum, has also been given the responsibility of direction. As per the official press release by WB Discovery, The Lord Of The Rings: The Hunt For The Gollum is currently in its early stages.

Warner Bros. is already involved in another Middle-earth movie, The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, an animated feature, due on December 13, 2024. This Gollum tale is pushed to 2026 as of now.

Serkis expressed his excitement, saying, “Yesssss, Precious.... The time has come once more to venture into the unknown with my dear friends, the extraordinary and incomparable guardians of Middle-earth, Peter, Fran and Philipp..... it’s just all too delicious..."
