publive-imageHollywood actor Jonathan Majors, who was recently seen playing an antagonist in Marvel Studios' Ant-Man 3, has been arrested by NY police. His 30-year-old girlfriend filed charges against him for physical assault.

Jonathan's girlfriend told cops that he slapped her after an argument in a taxi while they were returning home from a bar. She also claimed that Jonathan put his arms around her neck. The unknown girl then called 911 and asked for his arrest.

Jonathan's lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, has denied all the charges. A report in Variety shared her statement: "Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and is probably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows. We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently. All the evidence proves that Mr. Majors is entirely innocent and did not assault her whatsoever. Unfortunately, this incident came about because this woman was having an emotional crisis, for which she was taken to the hospital yesterday. The NYPD is required to make an arrest in these situations, and this is the only reason Mr. Majors was arrested. We expect these charges to be dropped soon."
