Anupam Kher Ecstatic As 'Silver Linings Playbook' Bags 8 Oscar Nominations

Actor Anupam Kher, who features in the Hollywood film Silver Linings Playbook, is over the moon.

His film has bagged eight nominations at the 85th Academy Awards. In a statement, the actor said, "As an Indian actor, I feel rewarded for my 30 years of contribution to cinema. I am glad to have worked with the fabulous cast and crew of Silver Linings Playbook. David O. Russell is undoubtedly a brilliant filmmaker and he has proved it again. A major part of me as an actor feels satiated today."

Anupam Kher plays Dr. Patel in the film, which features Hollywood superstars such as Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper in key roles.

The Oscar nominations were announced in Los Angeles on Thursday morning.
