AR Rahman and wife Saira announce divorce; read statement

AR Rahman-Saira Divorce:

Music composer AR Rahman and his wife Saira have made the tough decision of divorce, and the official statement has come from the latter's side. They got married in 1995 and lived happily until 2024. As they say, it was good until it lasted. 

Saira's lawyer, Vandana Shah, shared an official statement with the media. Read the full statement below: 

"After many years of marriage, Mrs. Saira has made the difficult decision to separate from her husband, Mr. AR Rahman. This decision comes after significant emotional strain in their relationship. Despite their deep love for each other, the couple has found that the tensions and difficulties have created an insurmountable gap between them, one that neither party feels able to bridge at this time. Mrs. Saira emphasized that she has taken this decision out of pain and agony. She requests privacy and understanding from the public during this challenging time, as she navigates this difficult chapter in her life."

As you can read, the reason for the divorce was the building tension and differences between the two. Rahman and Saira have three children: Khatija, Raheema, and Ameena. The two got married in 1995 in Chennai, and their happy marriage lasted for almost 3 decades. This news has come as a shock to many since both of them were seen perfectly happy in each other's company when they were spotted last time at Ambani's wedding in BKC.
