The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has penalised Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi and his wife, Maria Goretti. This has got to do with YouTube's Nexus, which has made fraud money worth Rs. 41 crore.
SEBI cracked down on a YouTube-run share pump-and-dump operation. The security panel is intent on catching players entrapping retail investors by serving misleading information on the social media platforms.
According to a report in MoneyControl, as per the market regulator's calculation, Arshad Warsi made a profit of Rs 29.43 lakh, and his wife bagged Rs 37.56 lakh. These funds were gained between April 27 and September 30 last year, and SEBI will soon impound them.
