Made on a budget of $100 million, the biographical drama has now surpassed the $700 million mark at the worldwide box office, confirming its "Blockbuster" status.

Oppenheimer crossed the $700 million mark in the fifth weekend, and the film has come a long way considering odds like Barbie, R-rated drama, and 3-hour runtime. Nolan's cinematic bomb truly exploded in ticket sales as well as reception among viewers. It is now the fourth highest grossing movie of 2023, behind "Super Mario Bros. Movie" ($1.35 billion), "Barbie ($1.2 billion), and "Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3" ($845 million).

Oppenheimer outgrossed Interstellar ($715 million) to become the fourth highest grossing movie for Christopher Nolan. It is now behind "The Dark Knight Rises" ($1.08 billion), "The Dark Knight" ($1.006 billion), and "Inception" ($837 million).
