After a dull 2022, Bollywood was expecting to have better results in 2023. However, the first Friday of the year went without a single Bollywood release. However, the second Friday had releases, but only to complete formalities. Kuttey had a disastrous opening on the first day.
Kuttey minted just 1 crore nett on the first day, which is a horrible start, to say the least. The first Bollywood release of 2023 has given us an unpleasant beginning. With the reports that are coming in, Kuttey is set to wrap below 10-12 crore nett in its lifetime run.
The other releases, like Lakadbaggha and Sachin: The Ultimate Winner, had to cancel shows due to no audience. The combined total of all three Hindi films failed to touch 1.50 crore. South releases like Varisu and Thunivu have seen a couple of housefull shows on some of the single screens and multiplexes, but the overall response has been below par.
