Deepika Padukone tied the knot with Ranveer Singh in November 2018 and while this will be the couple's first Holi post marriage, they won’t be celebrating it together.

When asked how they are planning to celebrate the festival of colours after marriage, DeePee said, “It’s so ironic that on the day of Holi, I leave for Chhapaak. We start shooting on Monday, it’s a very, very important film and this story needs to be told so no celebrations, just lots of preparations.”

Deepika is essaying the role of acid-attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal, in Chhapaak, which is being directed by Meghna Gulzar. We have learnt that Padukone, who first met Laxmi eight years ago, is putting eight hours into her prep every day. Meghna is helping her prepare and Deepika is also going through pictures and videos of Laxmi to get into the skin of her character. Reportedly, the film's team has collected data on 10 other acid attack survivors to understand the subject better.

Deepika is co-producing the movie along with Fox Star Studios and she will be seen sharing screen space with Mirzapur actor Vikrant Massey in the movie.
