Despicable Me 4 registered a good extended weekend over the holiday period in the first week of July. The film had a Wednesday release to capitalize on the holiday of July 4th and did pretty well over the extended 5-day weekend.

Despicable Me 4 opened on Wednesday with $27 million+ gross and saw a solid hold over the next four days. The film scored $20 million on Independence Day and then jumped again to $27 million+ total, taking its cumulative total over near $75 million in the first 3-day weekend. The next two days added $47 million more.

Internationally, DM 4 collected over $100 million in 5 days, which is a decent total for this franchise. This Minions family is more popular in America than other countries, so the majority of collections belong here only.
