Dune 2 has gotten off to a good start at the box office as far as the opening weekend is concerned. The franchise has expanded its wing from sci-fi movie buffs to regular moviegoers as it has exceeded all expectations at the domestic box office.
Dune 2 was projected to have a weekend of $65 million, but the actual results are far better than that. Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi epic has scored a good total of $81.6 million at the domestic box office in the first three days.Comparatively, that's just double its predecessor, which minted $41 million in its opening weekend. Internationally, the movie added a massive total of $97 million, taking its global haul to $178.5 million. In India, Dune 2 collected approx. $1.7 million, which isn't a big but fair total.
