The Mohit Suri directorial was expected to do better than this.Talking about the comparison between Ek Villain and Ek Villain Returns, the successor has fallen far behind. The first film, Ek Villain (2014), starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh, had collected a much bigger amount 8 years ago with lower ticket prices.
