Dia Mirza will be seen in Anubhav Sinhaa's upcoming flick, Bheed, based on the COVID-19 pandemic we all faced. The film depicts the hard-hitting reality of social disparity at the times when borders were drawn within the country. During a recent media interaction, Dia called Bheed the best work of Sinhaa's career.
Talking about the Bheed and Anubhav Sinhaa, Dia Mirza told Movie Talkies, "I love Anubhav Sinhaa's work. You have to have the audacity to tell socially challenging stories, and there are very few filmmakers who attempt socio-political dramas. Anubhav writes such perfect scripts, and Bheed is one of them. I think Bheed is Anubhav Sinhaa's best work."
When asked about why the film is in Black & White format, Dia told us, "When Anubhav told me the idea, I was stunned. I thought about it and realized that that was a powerful statement to make. When we think about history, we always see it in Black & White. And the pandemic, I guess, kind of erased color from people's lives. By making it black & white, I think he has just elevated the craft and made what he is trying to say even more strong."Bheed features an ensemble cast of Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Kapur, Bhumi Pednekar, Ashutosh Rana, Dia Mirza, Virendra Saxena, Aditya Shrivastav, Kritika Kamra, and Karan Pandit. Produced by Anubhav Sinha's Benaras Mediaworks, the film is set to release in cinemas on March 24, 2023.
