Indian model Priyanka Karunakaran, who has been a part of the Kingfisher Calendar and topline brand endorsements, is set to make her acting debut in Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga. The film stars Yami Gautam and Sunny Kaushal in the lead roles, while Priyanka plays the role of a South Indian air hostess. From modeling to Bollywood movies, the journey is different for everyone, and it's difficult too. Sharing her experience on the same, Priyanka told Movie Talkies, "It has become very difficult to make the shift. At one time, models/girls who featured in magazines used to be signed for three film deals. With OTT seeing some powerhouse performances, the way moviemakers have started casting has really changed, for the better of course. However, she believes that models are often stamped as "glam dolls" rather than actors. "The sad part is models are reduced to eye candy, and to break that mold is difficult. There is an underlying assumption that models can’t act. I studied drama at the New York Film Academy, and I have a theatre and performance arts background. However, the mild success as a model still overshadowed my foundation. I train to upgrade my acting skills, dancing skills, and martial arts to change the game for myself. All the training is surely going to pay off," she concluded.
