Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan has also spread his wings in different cinema industries. The actor is back in the Hindi cinema industry with his upcoming romantic psychological thriller, Chup, directed by R. Balki. During a media interaction, he answered some of our questions, and you'll love reading his answers. As we see in the trailer, a psycho killer is hunting down movie critics, so how will Dulquer react to a negative review of Chup. He answered, "I will be very happy to know what you didn't like. I am very open to reviews. I think it helps me choose better films and different roles. I don't want you guys to think that I can only do this.""I genuinely and passionately love cinema, even before I became an actor. I have always been seeking to be part of a great cinema, I never chase the box office. In different types of my career, I have been slaughtered for the kind of roles I have been doing," he added. The critics bashed Guru Dutt's Kaagaz Ke Phool, which is considered a classic today. This is the basic idea of Chup. So is there any film of Dulquer whose review made him upset? He revealed, "I have been getting this question a lot. But I don't think critics have been very off, got on my films. And also, I am an actor who always finds what I have done wrong. I have a lot more faith in my writers and film makers than I do in myself as an actor, so while reading reviews I am always like what did I do wrong? How can I improve myself. But about the films, I think critics can have a personal agenda. But I don't think they can ever tell us something about our film that we didn't know.
"I genuinely believe whenever we go out and make films, we have a film in our minds while reading the script. The filmmaker has something on his mind. If that mismatches, then it goes wrong," he concluded.Directed by R. Balki, Chup stars Dulquer Salmaan, Sunny Deol, Pooja Bhatt and Shreya Dhanwanthary. The film is produced by Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Anil Naidu, Dr. Jayantilal Gada (PEN Studios) and Gauri Shinde, and will be released on 22nd September 2022.
