Anirudh Iyer is set for his directorial debut this year with Ayushmann Khurrana and Jaideep Ahlawat starrer An Action Hero. The director is looking forward to the theatrical release of the film on 2nd December and had a lovely interaction with a group of media people today.When asked about how An Action Hero fits in the zone of content-driven commercial cinema, Anirudh told Movie Talkies, "Everyone should believe that content is the King. It was always like that, I don't know why people are saying it now. Nobody makes a film by thinking that let's make a bad film. Sometimes it falls right, sometimes wrong. Everyone tries to make the best cinema. We try to make clutter-breaking cinema. We have to take that risk. Sometimes you succeed, sometimes you don't and I hope we succeed this time.The news of Akshay Kumar having a special cameo in An Action Hero is no secret anymore. The director couldn't reveal the details, but gave hints, saying, "I don't think I can tell you that because a lot of people have kept asking me since we started the fllm. I didn't know it (Akshay Kumar's cameo) was going to happen at that time, so you all will have to wait till 2nd December."Anirudh Iyer's An Action Hero stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Jaideep Ahlawat in the lead, with a bunch of other Indian and foreign actors. Produced by Colour Yellow Pictures and T-Series Films, the action drama will be released in cinemas on December 2, 2022.
