Filmmaker Aanand L. Rai's An Action Hero, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Jaideep Ahlawat, was released in cinemas last Friday. The film has received decent-to-good reviews from the critics. Aanand L. Rai said, "As a storyteller, the endeavour has been to tell different kinds of stories and stories that will appeal to all kinds of movie buffs. An Action hero has been very well received by the section of the audience that consumes cool action thrillers with unique storylines."An Action Hero is directed by debutant Anirudh Iyer and shows a face-off between an action star and a politician.
