Shahid Kapoor is playing the lead role in the Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy and the film has been titled Kabir Singh.

The makers of the movie announced the title of the film today along with a teaser poster. The black and red poster shows a heart-shaped fist. Kabir Singh is being directed by Sandeep Vanga, who had also helmed the original.

Talking about the film’s title, Sandeep Vanga said, “When we started work on the Hindi script, it was a very exciting journey. Kabir Singh, as the protagonist’s name, came naturally, considering the character’s graph. Kabir Singh has the same punch and madness of Arjun Reddy.”

Kabir Singh will be shot extensively in Mumbai, Delhi and Mussoorie. Shahid will sport four different looks in the film and has been preparing for it for the past three months. The movie stars Kiara Advani opposite Kapoor and is slated to release on June 21.
