publive-imageDisney and Lucasfilm's Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is having a Tepid run at the box office. The film has no big competition until Mission Impossible 7 arrives in cinemas on July 12th, and it will also enjoy the 4th of July holiday on weekdays.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is tracking a $60 million opening weekend in North America. The total is underwhelming for sure since the hype for the long-awaited sequel was high enough for better numbers. Moreover, mixed reviews from critics have made things difficult for the film.

Indiana Jones 5 opened with $24 million on Friday, falling a little short of Indiana Jones 4 ($25 million). Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull had a $92 million weekend 15 years ago, with a final total of $317 million in the domestic market. The Dial of Destiny is far from those numbers, despite today's higher ticket prices.
