publive-imageThe glamorous and talented actress, Huma Qureshi, is enjoying the busiest phase of her career now. Her next film, Double XL, is coming to cinemas this Friday, and then she has Monica O My Darling coming on 11th November. She was present at the trailer launch hosted by Netflix yesterday, followed by a media interaction. Here are a few excerpts.publive-imageRecalling the events of how she came on board, Huma told, "I was doing my first film, Gangs Of Wasseypur, and Vasan was an assistant director there. We were like, grew up together in that sense. I told him Why don't you cast me in your projects. Then one day, I don't know what clicked, he called me and offered Monica O My Darling."

"I am very grateful because it's a very different character. And the way Vasan allowed me to interpret it is even more different. Usually you make thrillers with cut-to-cut characters that one is either bad or one one good. But Monica is a different thriller because it is not on anyone's side," she further added.

There have been a lot of body shaming experiences in Huma's career, but the actress stood tall against it. She is now playing the glamorous part of Monica, so obviously she has to explain why. Huma clarified, "I love glamour, I love fashion, I love dressing up, but I think there should be something else too. I really thank Mr. Vasan because he could have cast anybody else in this part and I am sure there are probably more conventional faces out there that are usually the first choice of many people to play glamorous parts, but he wanted to do something different. I think this role is a combination of that."
