No More Bhidu Jackie Shroff

Jackie Shroff, who is usually called by short names such as Bhidu and Jackie Dada, has gone against the misuse of the words. The actor filed a suit in Delhi Court for the misuse of his name, personality, and words that refer to his personality.

Advocate Pravin Anand presented the case before Justice Sanjeev Narula today. He stated in the suit that the actor is unhappy with the overuse of his photographs, name, and Bhidu word by various people, including pornography, without his consent:

Anand shared other cases with similar problems, which included Bollywood actors like Anil Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan. A total of six people have been summoned in this case, but no one appeared in the courtroom.

He said, "Personality rights have developed to the point that this cannot be done without consent. They are misusing it to the point of pornography, which is why the law is developing along these lines. The Anil Kapoor case deals exactly with this. This is precisely why your lordships insisted on advance notice in counterfeiting cases. Today, I put this in the category of counterfeiting. I've given them advance notice, which is why six of them came forward and said they were taking it down. Today, there is no defence because nobody has any permission or license. Look at the passing off. This is a straightforward misuse."
