publive-imageJaved Akhtar's recent speech in Pakistan is going viral on the internet. Even Kangana Ranaut, who usually speaks against the legendary poet, hailed him for saying those true words in front of Pakistani audiences.

Javed Akhtar's speech reads, "We have organised big concerts of Nusrat (a Pakistani singer) and others, but your country never organised Lata Mangeshkar's concert. I'm from Mumbai. Everyone knows about the Mumbai attacks. The attackers weren’t from Norway or Egypt. They are still roaming free in your country, so you should not be offended if an Indian complains about this."

When asked about how the Pakistani audience reacted to his speech, Javed Akhtar shared with NDTV, "They all clapped. They agreed with me. There are many people who admire India, and want to have a relationship with us. We tend to think of countries as monoliths. That is not the case. How do we connect with millions of people, who want to connect with India."
