Jawan Has A Record First Week; Last 30 First-Week Grossers Ruled By Shah Rukh Khan with 11 Films —

Jawan has had a record-breaking opening week at the box office. The film has surpassed Pathaan's first-week numbers, which set a new record by a huge margin in January 2023. Pathaan was helped by a 5-day weekend, though. But still, Jawan came back harder despite the 4-day weekend and being a fresh film.

Pathaan had broken the long-standing record of Salman Khan's Sultan (2016), which was again a YRF film and had a 5-day weekend. It becomes difficult for other films to score a record opening weekend and week with a regular Friday release, and that's one of the main reasons why Sultan and Pathaan's opening weekend and opening week numbers were much higher than other blockbusters. Nonetheless, Jawan has broken all previous records, and that's what matters.

Looking at the previous 30 record opening weeks, we can easily say that Shah Rukh Khan is ruling the list like a king. Some of his films missed opening weekend records due to pre-Diwali and clashes but scored the highest opening week at that time. Salman Khan is on second spot with 8 films, and these two are the only two superstars with 3 record opening weeks in a row.
