Jaya Prada Gets 6 Months Jail and Rs. 5,000 Fine For Not Paying ESI To Theatre Staff —

publive-imageIndian Actress and politician Jaya Prada has been sentenced to six months in jail and Rs. 5,000 fine by the Chennai Court. The actress-turned-politician has been sentenced by the court in a case linked to a petition filed by employees of a cinema hall in Rayapeta.

Jaya Prada owns a cinema hall in Rayapeta, which is run by Ram Kumar and Raja Babu. The management did not pay the ESI to the theatre employee, and therefore the staff knocked on the doors of the court. Jaya Prada promised to pay the amount, but the defending lawyer raised an objection.

The lawyer fought for the punishment, and the court sentenced Jaya Prada and three others to six months imprisonment and a Rs. 5,000 fine each. The lawyer was fighting the case for the Labour Government Insurance Corporation and eventually won it for them.

Jaya Prada
