Sarfira, which was an official remake of Soorarai Pottru, was released on 12th July and the film tanked terribly at the box office. Within 35 days (15th August), Akshay Kumar is back with another REMAKE. Yes, Khel Khel Mein is a remake of the Italian flick Perfect Strangers (2016), which has been remade over 20 times.
From the trailer, it looks like a complete copy and paste of the original flick, with an Indian flavour. The breast surgery joke is turned into cheap "Santre becoming Kalingand," while the rest of the twists are still unfolded. The production design looks a bit dull, but that's reasonable for the moderate budget this film has. It will help in the final economics, though.
Perfect Strangers carries a certain vulgar flavour and jokes that KKM cannot afford to copy. Hopefully, it wouldn't be that much in the final product, but this breast surgery joke is certainly frightful. Let's see what Mr. Aziz has cooked here, because the original flick isn't really anything extraordinary or even good.
