Fashion star Kim Cattrall is set to feature on the big screen with Lionsgate's upcoming comedy, About My Father. It is her comeback to the big screen after 2019, as she plays the eccentric character of Tigger Collins—a lady not to be messed with. With the movie set to release on May 26, 2023, here’s why Kim Cattrall chose this film.
On what made her take up the film, Kim Cattrall shared, "It was such an easy yes. My agent called me and said there’s this film with Robert De Niro where he plays a hairdresser, and I said I’m in. I don’t care what it is. I want to not only do it, I wanna see it, I wanna be it."
Talking about her character Tigger McArthur, she added, "It (Tigger) is very well educated, very smart, and very tenacious. Like many women who’ve reached a high-level position, she’s had to fight her way to the top. Tigger is a control freak, and she likes to put things in a very precise box. So, when she meets Salvo and Sebastian, it’s not what she expects or wants for her daughter. But it’s exactly what she should have."About My Father stars Robert De Niro, Leslie Bibb, Anders Holm, David Rasche, and Kim Cattrall. Helmed by Laura Terruso and written by Austen Earl and Sebastian Maniscalco, the movie will be released by Lionsgate and PVRINOX Pictures this Friday.
