Laila Khan Murder Case

Laila Khan, a Bollywood actress best known for her role in Rajesh Khanna's delayed release and box office disaster, Wafaa (2008), was murdered in 2011. 13 years after the case was first heard in court, a Mumbai session court finally gave a verdict on Friday.

Laila and her mother, Shelina (51), were shot dead by Parvez Tak, who happens to be her mother's third husband. He also killed Laila's elder sister Azmina (32), twin siblings Zara and Imran (25), and cousin Reshma. The court found Parvez guilty and sentenced him to death.

Laila Khan was allegedly married to Munir Khan, a member of the banned Bangladeshi Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami Bangladesh. Media reports in the past alleged that Laila Khan supplied the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), a terrorist organization planning an attack, with information on the city of Mumbai. Laila had a very short career in Bollywood, but her murder case has been making headlines for more than a decade.
