'Life Of Pi' Bags Four Oscar Awards!

publive-imageAt the 85th Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, Ang Lee's much appreciated Life Of Pi walked away with four Oscar awards for Best Direction, Original Score, Cinematography and Visual Effects!

Apart from that, Ben Affleck's Argo bagged the 'Best Picture' award whereas Quentin Tarantino walked away with the Original Screenplay award for his Django Unchained. The Best Actor honour went to Daniel Day Lewis for his role in Lincoln whereas the Best Actress award went to Jennifer Lawrence for Silver Linings Playbook.

Actor Christoph Waltz won the Best Supporting Actor for Django Unchained whereas Anne Hathaway won the Best Supporting Actress for Les Miserables.

In an emotional speech, Ang Lee specially paid a tribute to rising Indian actor Suraj Sharma and his Indian crew on stage for the award. Life of Pi is based on Yann Martel's book, which has sold over seven million copies worldwide and continues to sell over 1,000 copies per week and has won the prestigious Mann Booker Prize, and was also a New York Times bestseller for over a year.
