Maidaan and BMCM have seen a low response from audiences on the first day. It is a holiday for Ramadan Eid, but the numbers that are coming look like a non-holiday release. This is disappointing, to say the least, but a more worrisome scenario awaits us.Maidaan has had paid previews in selected cinemas yesterday and collected a decent total of 2.15 crore approx. On Thursday, the film took off on a low note and did not see any kind of big jump in numbers since the genre didn't seem to attract audiences to cinemas. The film is heading for a 5–5.25 crore nett on its first day.On the other hand, BMCM opened with below average occupancy after cancelling the paid previews. The film hasn't seen the kind of rushes a big event film should see, resulting in one of the lowest day one totals for any action movie on Eid day. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan seems to be clocking in approx. 14.75–15 crore nett on the first day.
