Mallika Sherawat's Comeback Film 'RK/RKAY' Is A Washout On Day 1

RK/RKAY, starring Mallika Sherawat, Rajat Kapoor, Kubbra Sait, Ranvir Shorey, and Manu Rishi Chadha, saw a minimal release yesterday in India. The film hardly created any buzz while the majority of the audience remained unaware of its existence. RK/RKAY has seen a poor response on day 1 at the box office, with literally no audience at the cinema halls.Touted to be Mallika Sherawat's comeback film, RK/RKAY barely managed to grab screens before YRF's biggie, Shamshera. The film has not been able to keep the shows running as there was no audience at the ticket windows. RK/RKAY would have been a fair choice for direct OTT release because as we saw, many Bollywood biggies have failed to attract audience in the first half of 2022.The film has already been screened and appreciated at several international festivals, including Shanghai International Film Festival and Austin Film Festival, and has been well received by the critics. However, the audience has rejected it completely, and made it a washout at the box office on opening day itself.
