The Mani Ratnam Magnum opus, PS-1, starring Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Prakash Raj, and Aishwarya Lekshmi, has crossed the 400 crore gross mark at the worldwide box office.The first part of Ponniyin Selvan opened to mixed reviews and reactions, and yet managed to become a hit at the box office. The film is a huge blockbuster in Tamil Nadu with a 136 crore nett total, while Nizam/Andhra has seen a fair outcome of around 19 crore nett. Kerala and Mysore/Karnataka have added 18–18.50 crore nett each.Speaking of Hindi markets, PS-1 is a below-average grosser. The film held well till Dussehra, but then lost the grip. With collections of around 18 crore nett in Hindi and the original Tamil versions grossing another 3 crore, the historical epic is looking to finish its theatrical run in the Hindi belt at 25 crore nett.The all-India total of Ponniyin Selvan stands at 214 crore Nett approx and 263 crore gross. In overseas, the film is a clean success as it minted $17 million (140 crore) Gross. The global total is running with 403 crore in the kitty so far.
