Hollywood Filmmaker Martin Scorsese's upcoming western crime drama, Killers of the Flower Moon, has a new release date. The film will have its limited release on October 6 this year, followed by a wide release on October 20, 2023. Before that, it will be screened at Cannes in May 2023.
Based on the best-selling 2017 non-fiction book Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI by David Grann, the film follows a series of 1920s Oklahoma murders in the Osage Nation, committed after oil was discovered on tribal land. The on-screen adaptation is done by Eric Roth and Martin Scorsese.
Killers of the Flower Moon stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Ernest Burkhart, Robert De Niro as William Hale, Jesse Plemons as Tom White, and Lily Gladstone in the role of Mollie Burkhart. Produced on a budget of $200 million by Imperative Entertainment, Sikelia Productions, Appian Way Productions, and Apple Studios, it is said to be the most expensive movie filmed in Oklahoma.
