FIR against Mithun Chakraborty for provocative speech
Some bad news for Mithun Chakraborty fans is here. The veteran actor was recently felicitated with the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke award, and now there is a legal case against him. Yes, you heard it right. An FIR has been filed against actor-politician Mithun Chakraborty.
While Mithun Chakraborty is active as an actor in the industry, he has also found interest in politics. He made a provocative statement at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) event in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, and the complaint is registered today, on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, that pushed him into a legal soup. He made this statement at the BJP's membership drive event, and the Union Home Minister of the nation, Mr. Amit Shah, was also present there.

The complaint against the Disco Dancer actor contains a speech he made during a BJP program at the EZCC in the Salt Lake area on October 27, 2024. The police registered an FIR at Bidhannagar South police station after checking the video footage of his statement. "We have started an investigation into the case," said a senior officer of Bidhannagar police and denied further information.
"There is nothing provocative in his speech. These are nothing but attempts to intimidate him by using the police as a political tool," said Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar, in support of Mr. Chakraborty.

Chakraborty asserted that the "masnad" (throne) of West Bengal would be under the BJP flag after the 2026 assembly elections, promising to do whatever it takes to achieve the goal. He made this statement in front of Amit Shah. He stated, "In 2026, the masnad will be ours, and we will do everything to achieve the goal."
