Veteran Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman's step-granddaughter named E'dena Hines was found stabbed to death outside her residence at Washington Heights in New York on Sunday morning. The young woman was rushed to a hospital in Harlem, where she was declared dead on arrival.
In a statement, a grief-struck Morgan said, "The world will never know her artistry and talent, and how much she had to offer. Her friends and family were fortunate enough to have known what she meant as a person. Her star will continue to shine bright in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. May she rest in peace."
NYPD officers have arrested a 30-year-old man, who is suspected to be her boyfriend, in connection with the murder. Sources claim that the man was spotted standing over her prone body and shouting Biblical verses when the police reached the scene. The suspect has been taken into custody and transported by ambulance to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center for a psychological evaluation.
