A case in Nawazuddin Siddiqui?
Nawazuddin Siddiqui may face another legal soup again. A Hindu organization named Hindu Janjagruti Samiti, a right-wing organization, wrote a letter to the Mumbai Police commissioner and Maharashtra director general of police to arrest Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The letter also includes the name of Ankur Singh, the owner of Big Cash Poker, who made the defamatory advertisement.
The Hindu organization alleged that Big Cash Poker's advertisement, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, shows him in the role of a police officer who asks people to play poker, which is highly degrading to the image of Maharashtra Police.
Surajya Abhiyan, a social welfare campaign by Hindu Janjagruti Samiti, wants the police to take immediate action against the Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Meanwhile, Abhishek Murukate, the Maharashtra state coordinator of Surajya Abhiyan, wrote a letter to the Maharashtra DGP and Mumbai Police Commissioner to book the Kick actor and Ankur Singh, demanding strict action under the Maharashtra Civil Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules 1979 and the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.
Abhishek Murukate stated, “The Maharashtra police are trained through hard work, but this advertisement attempts to suggest that online gambling gives them skills. It is disappointing that no police officer has been compelled to take action against this application, and it is unfortunate that complaints have to be made by others. We also wish that Maharashtra’s home minister also takes cognizance of the matter."
